Vicki and Matt / Yonah Mountain Vineyards / Cleveland, Georgia / May 27th, 2023
Aloha!
Vicki and Matt tied the knot at the base of Yonah Mountain in Cleveland, Georgia. Surrounded by their children, family, and close friends, elements of the Hawaiian Islands played a major role in the details of the day.
Yonah Mountain Vineyards was a special place to Vicki and Matt while they were dating. They shared a couple of dates there and enjoyed the scenic views during their visits. During an initial phone call with Vicki, I learned she really desired to incorporate the views and the scenery of the vineyard into their wedding photos. Since that is something I really value in my photography, I couldn't wait!
The day began
with detail shots of Vicki getting ready as well as some captures of their beautiful rings, flowers, and jewelry. I loved seeing how thoughtful and meaningful each detail was. Vicki's earrings were Hawaiian-inspired, and her neutral bouquet was just stunning. I loved watching it all come together, and I also loved watching how excited Vicki was at each stage of the morning.
Once that dress is zipped up, it begins to get real!
The first look
was one I will never forget! Vicki was THRILLED to see Matt standing out in the courtyard waiting for her. She took a minute to collect herself and then we were off. Matt's reaction was one of the sweetest and most genuine reactions I have ever witnessed. There was a big "WOW!" followed my many laughs, hugs, and tears. I am always a fan of first looks and how special and intimate the moment is for the couple.
They shared a sip of wine together before we headed out for couple's portraits in the vineyard.
Then it was time
for bride and groom portraits! We had just over an hour to spend exploring a few different spots around the venue. We began at the old rustic barn at the bottom of the hill, and eventually made our way to the vineyards for some beautiful shots. We were able to see Yonah Mountain from our spot which was just stunning! We all shared many laughs as we worked our way through the vines.
The ceremony
was SO SO beautiful and full of special moments that made the time very unique to Vicki and Matt. They were able to incorporate memories of lost loved ones, stories of their travels together, and a special song by Matt's Goddaughter. They shared heartfelt, funny, and emotional vows of their own. They included aspects of Hawaiian culture such as adorning a lei on each other as an act of "finality" in securing the husband and wife bond. Words from scripture were also read in order to give thanks to God for Vicki and Matt finding each other and blessing their new lives as husband and wife.
Oh, and the bridal party entered with tiny bottles of liquor, much to the delight of the guests!
The reception
took place in the grand ball room at Yonah Mountain Vineyards. More flowers, the prettiest cake I have ever seen, heartwarming toasts by Vicki and Matt's children, and fellowship shared by the guests were an honor to watch unfold.
This wedding was truly one to remember. Vicki and Matt have a beautiful family, and watching their children become siblings was such a blessing.
